A message from Alex Boussioutas, Chair, AGW 2017 Scientific Program

Alex Boussioutas

We cordially invite you to join us for GESA’s Australian Gastroenterology Week 2017 on the sunny Gold Coast from Sunday, August 20 to Tuesday, August 22 2017 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

We are pleased to announce our Bushell Lecturer will be Professor Haruhiro Inoue, a world leader in surgical endoscopy who was the first surgeon to perform a successful Per Oral Endoscopic Mytotomy (POEM) in 2008.

Professor Inoue will set the stage for our intensive three-day program that will incorporate several synergistic themes covering scientific and educational lectures, symposia, free papers and poster presentations.  We will continue the tradition of our Young Investigator Awards, showcasing the cutting-edge research carried out by our emerging researchers in the fields of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

GESA is dedicated to promoting research and continual collaboration with a pre-conference Research Workshop and the ever popular GESA AGW 2017 Dinner.

The Gold Coast boasts sunny weather, pristine beaches, and countless attractions on its doorstep, making it the perfect destination for GESA AGW 2017.

GESA AGW continues to be the focal point of GESA’s activities and I welcome your active participation.  On behalf of the Committee, I invite you to join us at GESA AGW 2017.

PROFESSOR ALEX BOUSSIOUTAS MBBS, PHD, FRACP

Chair, GESA AGW 2017 Scientific Program Committee
