Professor Matthieu Allez

Head of the department of gastroenterology at Hopital Saint-Louis in Paris, and expert in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. After he gained his medical degree Matthieu Allez spent two years as a visiting associate in the department of Immunobiology at Mount Sinai in New York and was promoted to Professor of Gastroenterology in Paris in 2006 (Université Denis Diderot, Paris Sorbonne). Additionally, Professor Allez served ECCO as chair of SciCom and Scientific officer. He is a member of the scientific committee of UEG, a member of IOIBD, a member of the GETAID and also the co-founder and President of the French research group REMIND. Professor Allez’s main research interests focus on regulation of mucosal immune responses, identification of biomarkers and biologic therapies for inflammatory bowel diseases.
