Professor Herbert Tilg

Director of Department of Internal Medicine I (Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Endocrinology) at Medical University Innsbruck, Austria. He received his Medical degree from Leopold Franzens University in Innsbruck and did his research fellowship at Tufts University with Charles Dinarello. His research focus is “Inflammation and Cytokine Research” in gastrointestinal disorders and he has published more than 250 peer reviewed papers. His work has appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Cell, Nature Reviews Immunology, Journal of Experimental Medicine, Journal of Clinical Investigation and others. He is Editorial Board Member of more than 10 international Journals and also an Associate Editor of GUT. He also served as a member of the Governing Board both of the European Crohn´s Colitis Organisation (ECCO), European Association Study of Liver Diseases (EASL) and UEG (United European Gastroenetrology). He has been recently appionted as Chairman of the Scientific Committee of UEG
